IVF Update: Egg Collection & Embryos

Thanks for all the lovely messages.

I'll post a proper update explaining exactly how collection went when I've had time to write it but for now I'll keep things short and sweet.

Egg Collection was very successful; we got 19 eggs!

We had combination IVF and ICSI which has resulted in seven 'normally fertilised' embryos.

We're aiming for a Day 5 transfer, which will take them to blastocyst stage, but they might go back sooner if they're not doing so well.

Think lots of positive, embryo-growing thoughts for me, please.

  1. Oh my goodness! 19! That's fantastic! (I am so overusing exclamation points, but I don't care.) I hope your transfer goes so so well. Best wishes and all of my fingers crossed for you my dear. Elle @ Erratic Project Junkie

  2. Hope everything goes well with the transfer! Wow, 7, that's great. But they transfer only one, no, and save the others? At least, that's the law in Canada (I think).

    1. Thank you. And yes, they'll transfer one, two or three depending on your age here. As I'm under 35 I just get one. :-)

  3. I've just been reading through all of your updates (I'm woefully behind) and congratulate you on your dedication and strength! It looks like things are on track for you. My son's tutor delivered her baby this weekend after IVF so I know how daunting the process can be, and I've learned a few things from your posts. All the best :)
