New Phone

I've had an iPhone for the last two years. I had one for a while a few years ago before that as well. I wouldn't say I'm an iPhone fan, I had them because they were the best option at the time.

But as my contract was due for renewal I realised I had an opportunity to go for something different. I decided to go for a Samsung.

I don't have broadband Internet at home so my only way to get online is via mobile Internet access. One of the problems with this is I need a larger screen to be able to sit back and actually read what I'm looking at.

I'd wanted to go with the Samsung S4 but it was out of stock so I ended up going for the S5 which worked out well because it's even larger again. I got it in blue and then promptly ordered a purple case so you can't really see what colour it is, but it looks snazzy and that's obviously important too.

I seem to get a stronger connection in the house and it's faster to load most pages too. Until recently I'd all but given up on Twitter since my phone almost always refused to post my tweets. Now I'm actually able to read and post again.

The camera is also awesome! I'm looking at getting a Samsung compact camera in the future and I'm really looking forward to that now, I mean if this is what they do with a phone I can't wait to see the camera! I do have to admit that one of my favourite things is the fact it has a 'beautify' function which airbrushes you as you take the photo.

I'm still learning to use it but I'm noticing things about it everyday that I like or prefer over my old phone. Just as well because I'm stuck with it for the next two years!

  1. Sounds great. I also have an iPhone and will need to upgrade soon. I've been wondering about the other brands out there.

    1. I'm lucky that the people I work with have a variety of phones so I've been able to nosey at what I liked the look of most. We did have a play with some in the shop the other week too but my mind was pretty made up. ;-)

  2. iPhone works best for me because we have all Apple products at our house. Too confusing for me to try to use something different. Can't teach an old dog new tricks! LOL

    1. Part of my reason for wanting to switch was because of the camera I'm hoping to get and the fact that I have a Kindle rather than an iPad so I don't need iTunes on my computer any more, hehe.

My husband preferred to stick with what he's familiar with and he was so pleased that everything just downloaded from the cloud from his old phone to the new, so iPhone was the obvious choice for him. :-D

    1. I had a really basic phone for almost a year a while back and got by with it just fine. As we don't have a home phone line or internet access we kind of rely on our mobiles. Sometimes I'd love to get by without one at all but I rarely use it as a phone, hehe, it's all for Twitter, Facebook and blogging!
